The material of your window frames places a crucial role in your windows’ long-term performance, durability, and energy efficiency. That’s why Renewal by Andersen® of Kentucky, the top window installation expert in our area, uses our exclusive Fibrex® material for our windows. Fibrex is two times stronger than vinyl and will not rot, chip, corrode, blister, or peel. It also has the beauty of real wood.

How Is Fibrex Manufactured?
Fibrex material is about 40% reclaimed wood fiber by weight and 60% polymer. We begin by heating the wood fibers to extract moisture. We then heat the polymer to a specific temperature and combine it with the wood fibers. The polymer encases and fills each individual cell of the wood fiber, and the wood fibers then align and bind together. This process results in a material that has the strength of wood but can also repel moisture. We then use an extruder to create Fibrex window frames in any shape and color.
What Are the Benefits of Fibrex Material?
Fibrex has many benefits, including:
- Exceptionally Strong and Sturdy: Whether you are investing in a bay, picture, or double hung windows, with Fibrex frames your new units will require very little maintenance.
- Does Not Fade: Through the years, your Fibrex windows will look as beautiful and vibrant as the day we installed them.
- Excellent Insulate: Fibrex reduces the amount of heat that can transfer through your windows. Together with our High-Performance™ Low-E4® glass, this means that our windows can save you up to 25% on your energy bills.
- Environmentally Friendly: We manufacture our Fibrex frames using wood from our wood window manufacturing facilities. Our reuse of wood fiber has prevented the harvesting of over 90 million board feet of lumber. The strength and durability of Fibrex also keep less durable window materials out of landfills. By improving your energy efficiency, Fibrex also reduces the emissions and workload from our power plants.
