Awning Windows
Enjoy the versatility of awning windows. They can be the ideal solution when privacy within the room is a concern, or when wall space is needed for furniture or cabinetry. Awning windows can be positioned high on a wall, above or below other windows, or in a configuration all their own.
In any weather, an awning window is an easy way to achieve full or partial ventilation within your home. With a simple turn of the crank, it swings outward from the bottom while the operating mechanism keeps the sash securely open. Use an awning window singly or in combination with other window styles for increased light and ventilation. For safety reasons, this style should not be used in areas where an open sash could obstruct a walkway.
Benefits of Awning Windows
Awning windows lend themselves well to contemporary architecture, but can easily be used to complement a traditional design with the right choices of color, grille and hardware. High-Performance™ Low-E4™ glass allows your windows to stay cleaner longer, reduces water spotting up to 99% and cuts energy bills up to 25% when compared to ordinary dual-pane glass.
- Swings open for ventilation, rain or shine
- Double locking points keep window tightly closed
- Dual weather-strip system provides a tight seal when sash is locked and closed
- Variety of glass, exterior and interior colors, grille patterns and hardware options
- Nearly invisible TruScene™ insect screen optional

Glass
Renewal By Andersen features 3 glazing options
See your representative for the best glass choice for your home
You may not be able to see the difference in the glass we design, but we promise you’ll feel it. Renewal by Andersen uses High-PerformanceTM flow ofLow-E4 glass as standard in every window we build. This microscopically thin, metallic coating on the inner surface restricts the radiant heat, helping keep your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer. It helps reduce ultraviolet and visible rays, while providing a clear, non-tinted view.
Our glass also uses a patented, low-conductivity spacer made of stainless steel that resists heat transfer much more effectively than the aluminum spacers used by many other manufacturers. An Argon gas blend is sealed between the glass to help inhibit the transfer of energy (heat or cold).
Screens
Our lightweight insect screens are included as standard with every operable window. They’re easy to remove, which makes them easy to clean. Constructed with an aluminum frame, they come with your choice of standard fiberglass or optional aluminum screen cloth. Upgrade to TruScene Insect Screens for a clear view!
TruScene insect screens are made with a micro-fine stainless steel mesh that’s one-third the diameter of standard screen wire.
See what you’ve been missing with over 50% more clarity than the standard insect screens.
