Craft supplies for Valentine's decorations

If you have your own little ones or grandkids that visit, sometimes it is just fun to let them have at the windows for the holidays. You just never know what clever little things they will create that we as adults would never think about doing. Here are a couple of ideas to give these young minds the freedom to decorate, but also keep your windows protected from any permanent decorations.Valentine’s Day Contact PaperOne of the best art materials that any parent or grandparent can have on hand is contact paper. It can be used for so many different art projects and holiday decorations, that you can’t go wrong by buying a large quantity of it so you always have it.For this Valentine’s Day decoration, you are going to take the contact paper and tape it up in your window. Cut the piece to the size of your window (up to the height of the child), with the sticky side out.Next, let the kids stick whatever decorations they want to the contact paper and in whatever way they want. These decorations could be hearts cutout from construction paper or wrapping paper, Valentine scrapbooking materials, Valentine clings, or colored (pink, red, and white) pompoms.Once the holiday is over, the decoration is easily removed from the glass and can be thrown away. If it is a piece of art worth keeping, put another piece of contact paper over the top (sticky sides facing each other) and then you will have a preserved artwork that you can hang somewhere else.Double-sided Tape DecorationsDouble-sided tape should be as common in a house with kids in it as glue sticks are. The nice things about double-sided tape are that it isn’t permanent and it is super easy to use.For Valentine’s Day, use the double sided tape to stick your kids Valentine’s art project to the window as part of your Valentine’s Day decorations. These could be art projects they did at school, or even hearts cut out of doilies and scrapbooking paper. When Valentine’s Day has passed, unstick the decorations from your windows and throw away.
