Renewal by Andersen is excited to announce the introduction of the newly designed family of gliding windows. Incorporating the latest in design, technology and manufacturing processes, multiple advancements have been made. This new product family builds upon the strengths of the current Renewal by Andersen gliding window family while introducing new features that are designed for convenience, performance and efficiency.

The key improvement of this new product family includes:

• Bigger — Larger sizes and more configurations
• Better — Improved performance and smoother operation
• More Beautiful — Mortise-and-tenon frame and sash construction

Bigger:Our new gliding window design enables larger as well as smaller size options. This new design dramatically increases the available size grid to include truly monumental sizes.

Better:With a new weather-strip system, a patent pending water management sill design and low friction high performance rollers, the performance and operation have been dramatically improved.

More Beautiful:Our new frame and sash design utilize mortise-and-tenon (M&T) joints for a better fit and a cleaner look. The sash frame is a grooved glazed design that eliminates the need or an exterior fillet bead. This enables better exterior grille fit and improves aesthetics.

Expanded Size Grid

There are now larger and smaller sizes to fill more openings. The illustration below shows the size grid expansion and quantifies percent increase in available sizes. Most notably, the new gliding triple (GT) max sizes have been increased to 144" wide and 72" tall.

Performance

The new gliding window product family performance level has been increased up to a PG 40 level depending on size. An improved dual weather-strip system forms a tight seal between the sash and frame. This new weather-strip system dramatically reduces air and water infiltration while improving operation with its new slip cat sheath. An extended leg compression seal at the sash meeting stile provides a tight seal while shedding weather outside and away from the sash interface.

Improved OperationA multiple dual tandem roller made of a special polymer formulation allows for sooth, worry free and maintain free operation. The roller can be fine-tuned during installation for proper alignment and ensuring smooth operation. In addition, a new contoured hand pull is being introduced. This optional field applied hand pull is available in our three standard painted colors and six Estate metal finishes. These include High-Satin Nickel, Brushed Chrome, Polished Chrome, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Distressed Bronze and Distressed Nickel Estate finishes.

Will the previous gliding window handle work on the new glider?Yes, the hand pull used on the Legacy gliding window can be applied to the new gliding window meeting stile. This handle would have to be ordered separately and the unit will not be predrilled. However, we recommend using the new contoured handle.Style OptionsThe new gliding window is available in the same exterior and interior color options as the legacy gliding window. The window color component combination color chart has been updated. Also, the same hardware finish, glass and grille options are available.
