This means that they can easily handle the day to day abuse that we inflict on our exterior doors. Whether it is from cans in our grocery bags banging against them or kicking them open with our feet; they can handle it.They are also the doors that you want to have in place if anyone ever tries to break in your home through your door, because steel doors can withstand much more brute force than fiberglass doors can.Most importantly (on many homeowners’ lists), steel doors are cheaper to purchase for a home than fiberglass doors are.Just keep in mind though, that this front door is going to be on your house for a very long time, and you need to choose the one that is going to work best for your home and your life. If you are more worried about your utility bill than you are about your home being broken into, than a fiberglass door would be for you.On the other hand, if you live in a less secure neighborhood, you might sleep better at night with a steel door.
