Double-Hung Windows
Our version of this traditional window design features gently curving lines for elegance and symmetry. Both the top and bottom sashes of double-hung windows open to provide ample ventilation, and tilt in for easy cleaning. Since they do not take up valuable exterior space, double-hung windows are an ideal choice when windows are next to patios, porches or walkways.
Innovative Features to Make Your Life Better
We promise you’ll feel the difference in the glass we design, even if you can’t see it. High-Performance™ Low-E4™ glass is standard in every window built by Renewal by Andersen®. This microscopically thin, metallic coating on the inner surface lets in light but restricts radiant heat, so your home stays warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. A study of identical homes comparing Low-E to ordinary dual-pane glass showed a 25% savings on cooling bills, and 10% on heating costs (savings may vary geographically). This glass also helps reduce ultraviolet and visible rays, while providing a clear, non-tinted view.
Our glass includes a patented, low-conductivity spacer made of stainless steel that resists heat transfer much more effectively than the aluminum spacers used by many other manufacturers. An argon gas blend is sealed between the glass to help inhibit the transfer of energy (heat or cold).
- Durable design helps seal out wind and rain
- Traditional look of mortise-and-tenon joinery
- High-Performance™ Low-E4™ glass cuts energy bills up to 25%, stays cleaner and reduces water spotting
- Variety of interior and exterior colors, grille patterns, glass and hardware options
- Nearly-invisible TruScene™ insect screen optional
